Shelby Energy Company provides LP/propane gas services for your home, farm, and businesses. Serving over 2,000 customers, we strive to meet the needs of each person that walks through our doors.
You do not have to be a member of Shelby Electric Cooperative to take advantages of our services.
WE OFFER
Propane Delivery
Shelby Energy Company has three bobtail bulk trucks that operate in a 35 to 40 mile radius. If you own a propane tank, we will deliver propane to your home, farm, or business.
Tank Rental
We offer tank rentals in various sizes. These include 120, 250, 500, and 1,000 gallon tanks.
Cylinder Refill
Stop by our cylinder fill station to refill 20, 30, 40, or 100 lb. bottles. We can refill anything from gas grills and forklifts to RVs and campers. The refill station is not manned during all business hours; you may not receive immediate service. Please call ahead or drop off your cylinder to be picked up at a later date or time.
PAYMENT OPTIONS
Cash Price Discount
Cash fill invoices paid within 21 days will receive a discount of $0.10 per gallon.

Contract Pricing
Prepaid contracts are available each summer. Shelby Energy will work with you to select a reasonable amount of gas to contract. Once the contract has been filled, all additional gallons will be priced by the daily market price.
Budget Billing
Pay an equal, estimated amount each month based on your home’s annual use. Shelby Energy will ensure your tank is full while you enjoy the benefits of monthly budgeting. You must be a Shelby Energy customer for 12 months and have a good credit history to sign up. Some exceptions may apply. Call 217-774-2311 for more details.
Note: Budget billing rolls over each June. At that time, any overpaid amount will be credited to your account to use on future purchases. Any underpaid amount will be billed to the customer on the June statement.
WAYS TO PAY
By Mail
Mail your check, along with the stub conveniently located at the top of your bill, to Shelby Energy. Please allow 3-5 days for delivery.
In Person
Stop by our office in Shelbyville during business hours (7:00AM to 4:00PM) to pay your bill in person by cash, check, or credit/debit card. An after-hours drop box is also available and located at the entrance of Shelby Electric Cooperative.
Call
Call Shelby Energy’s office at 217-774-2311 to pay your bill using a debit or credit card.
Note: Checks and cash cannot be accepted over the phone.
